Alternator & Charging, On-Site
A dim dash, a battery warning light or a car that runs fine until it suddenly does not is usually the charging system. We measure charging voltage and ripple, check the serpentine belt, tensioner and pulleys, and verify the regulator and wiring before condemning an alternator.
When the alternator truly is bad, we replace it on-site with a quality unit and re-verify output under load with accessories running.
- Charging voltage, ripple and voltage-drop testing under load
- Alternator replacement with output verified before we leave
- Serpentine belt, tensioner, idler and pulley inspection or replacement
- Wiring, fusible link and ground circuit inspection
